We are proud to have Themba Ndlovu, an international,
renowned musician and composer as our conductor.
Born in Zimbabwe, in the second city of Bulawayo, this
son of a Baptist pastor, grew up with gospel music and song. He has a gift in conveying his verve and ardour to the choir.
In his long musical career, which spans almost three
decades, Themba Ndlovu shows his versatility.
He has been involved in different groups, famous
and otherwise, such as Goombay Dance Band., as a bassist, guitarist, or as a background singer.
Themba Ndlovu was once musical director of a South
African musical: „Sounds of Soweto“. He also composed film music for various productions including ZDF-the
2nd German TV station. He
also composed the song „Children of the Frontline” for UNICEF back in 1988 for a festival which included
Harry Belafonte, Miriam Makeba, Manu Dibango, Hugh Masekela, Youssou N’dour among others.
Themba has taken it to task that the Gospel Singers
Wollishofen constantly develops, in content and in quality.
